Member of the Research Commission
July 2018 – June 2021
This faculty commission maintains and improves research conditions for all staff members in the Faculty of Arts and pays particular attention to training emerging scholars. Every year, we organize a “Research Day” (Journée de la recherche) which aims to discuss and exchange research practices among the various fields represented in the Faculty. The topic of the 2019-Research Day was multidisciplinarity; participations should soon be published online!

Secretary of the Labor Union defending the work rights of PhD Candidates, post-docs, Junior and Senior Lecturers at the Faculty of Arts (ACIL)
Jan. 2018 – June 2019
ACIL (Association du corps intermédiaire en Lettres) works to improve the work conditions of the intermediary body (including doctoral and postdoctoral candidates, as well as Junior and Senior Lecturers). Coordination of meetings with the members of ACIL, the University’s labor union (ACIDUL), the Dean’s office and the intermediary body, communication between all parties, organization of elections and participation in the creation of faculty commissions.

PhD Representative with the Board of the CUSO English Program

Representing and voicing the interests, questions, and concerns of doctoral members of the CUSO English program. Participating in the yearly selection of CUSO workshop proposals.

Member of the “Commission de planification académique”
June 2017 – July 2021
This faculty commission reviews of HR projects of faculty departments. These commissions usually have 3-year mandates and I have been elected as substitute for a leaving member. In June 2018, I have been elected for a 3-year mandate (2018 – 2021) of the “Commission de planification académique” and “Commission de la recherche.”

Assistant to Director of First-Year Studies
May 2017 – Dec. 2019
Close cooperation with the Director of First-Year Studies in literature (Dr. Kirsten Anne Stirling) by helping in the coordination of 1st-year literature classes (English Composition and Introduction to Literary Analysis); updating of class plans and any other necessary documents; setting up class websites, and answering questions concerning these classes. Authoring of the departmental “Guide for New EC and ILA Teachers.”

Emerging Scholars’ Forum
Feb. 2017 – Aug. 2018
As member of the Emerging Scholars’ Forum (NWF) of the Canadian Studies Association in German-Speaking Countries (GKS) my colleagues and I edited a quarterly newsletter, organized two panels at the annual GKS meeting in Grainau in Feb. 2018, and organized the own NWF conference in Bern.
