Before he joined UNIL in 2016, he held a researcher position (Charg\u00e9 de Recherche) at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.laas.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">LAAS-CNRS<\/a>\u00a0(France). Prior to that, he\u00a0worked as a post-doctoral researcher at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.epfl.ch\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">EPFL<\/a>\u00a0and at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mcgill.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">McGill University<\/a>\u00a0(Canada).\u00a0He\u00a0earned his\u00a0PhD degree in computer science from the <a class=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.univ-rennes1.fr\/\">Universit\u00e9 of Rennes<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.inria.fr\">Inria,<\/a> France, in 2010. <i class=\"fab fa-linkedin\"><\/i><\/p>\n<h2>Amro Abdrabo (PhD student)<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><a href=\"https:\/\/people.unil.ch\/kevinhuguenin\/members\/amro-abdrabo\/\">Amro<\/a> is a PhD student (enrolled at UNIL) working under the supervision of <a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/people.unil.ch\/kevinhuguenin\/members\/kevin-huguenin\/\">Prof. K\u00e9vin Huguenin<\/a> (UNIL). He started his PhD in 2025. He earned his MSc degree in Computer Science from ETH Z\u00fcrich in 2024.<\/p>\n<h2>Eva Luvison (PhD student)<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><a href=\"https:\/\/people.unil.ch\/kevinhuguenin\/members\/eva-luvison\/\">Eva<\/a> is a PhD student (enrolled at UNIL) working under the supervision of <a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/people.unil.ch\/kevinhuguenin\/members\/kevin-huguenin\/\">Prof. K\u00e9vin Huguenin<\/a> (UNIL). She started her PhD in 2025. She earned her MSc degree in cybersecurity from <a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.epfl.ch\/en\/\">EPFL<\/a> and <a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/ethz.ch\/en.html\">ETHZ<\/a> in 2024.<\/p>\n<h2>Frank Ressat (PhD student)<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><a href=\"https:\/\/people.unil.ch\/kevinhuguenin\/members\/frank-ressat\/\">Frank<\/a> is a PhD student (enrolled at UNIL) working under the supervision of <a href=\"https:\/\/people.unil.ch\/kevinhuguenin\/members\/kevin-huguenin\/\">Prof. K\u00e9vin Huguenin<\/a> (UNIL), in the framework of the <a href=\"https:\/\/data.snf.ch\/grants\/grant\/10001407\">Security and Privacy with Second-Hand Storage Devices<\/a> SNSF project. He started his PhD in 2025. He earned his MSc degree in digital forensics from UNIL in 2024. His current research focuses on the risk materialization and the buyers&#8217;\/sellers&#8217; perceptions regarding second-hand storage devices.<\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center\">***<\/h1>\n<h1>Former members<\/h1>\n<h2>Lev Velykoivanenko (PhD, UNIL, 2020-2025)<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/lev-velykoivanenko\/\">Lev<\/a>\u00a0earned his PhD from UNIL for the work on survey methods and fitness tracking he conducted under the supervision of <a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/people.unil.ch\/kevinhuguenin\/members\/kevin-huguenin\/\">Prof. K\u00e9vin Huguenin<\/a> (UNIL) in the ISPLab, in the framework of the <a href=\"https:\/\/p3.snf.ch\/project-178978\">PrivateLife<\/a> SNSF project. In 2020, he earned his MSc degree in information systems from UNIL.<\/p>\n<h2>Kavous Salehzadeh (Research scientist, 2020-2025)<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><a href=\"https:\/\/people.unil.ch\/kevinhuguenin\/members\/kavous-salehzadeh-niksirat\/\">Kavous<\/a> joined the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mpi-sp.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Max Planck Institute for Security and Privacy<\/a> (MPI-SP) as a postdoctoral research fellow after he worked as a research scientist in the ISP and <a href=\"https:\/\/wp.unil.ch\/persuasivelab\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">PET<\/a> Labs focusing on a variety of privacy-related topics, including online privacy violations committed by individuals, in the framework of the <a href=\"https:\/\/p3.snf.ch\/project-190762\">NudgeMPC<\/a> SNSF project. Before he joined UNIL, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the <a href=\"https:\/\/hci.epfl.ch\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Human-Computer Interaction Group<\/a> at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.epfl.ch\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">EPFL<\/a>. He earned his PhD degree in human-computer interaction (HCI) from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kochi-tech.ac.jp\/kut\/english\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kochi University of Technology<\/a>, Japan, in 2018. <i class=\"fab fa-linkedin\"><\/i><\/p>\n<h2>Yamane El Zein (PhD, UNIL\/CSEM, 2019-2025)<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><a href=\"https:\/\/people.unil.ch\/kevinhuguenin\/members\/yamane-el-zein\/\">Yamane<\/a> joined CSEM as an engineer after she earned her PhD from UNIL for the work on the privacy challenges of health-data she conducted under the supervision of <a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/people.unil.ch\/kevinhuguenin\/members\/kevin-huguenin\/\">Prof. K\u00e9vin Huguenin<\/a> (UNIL) in the ISPLab, while being employed at CSEM. In 2019, she earned her <a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.epfl.ch\/schools\/ic\/education\/master\/computer-science\/\">MSc in Computer Science<\/a> from EPFL; her thesis work focuses on a framework for quantifying the privacy risks associated with genomic data sharing at the <a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.chuv.ch\/fr\/medecine-precision\/accueil\/en-bref\/\">Precision Medicine Unit <\/a> of Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV).\u00a0<i class=\"fab fa-linkedin\"><\/i><\/p>\n<h2>No\u00e9 Zufferey (PhD, UNIL, 2019-2023)<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><a href=\"https:\/\/people.unil.ch\/kevinhuguenin\/members\/noe-zufferey\/\">No\u00e9<\/a> joined <a href=\"https:\/\/spg.ethz.ch\/group\/people.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ETH<\/a> as a post-doctoral researcher after he earned his PhD from UNIL for the work on the privacy aspects of fitness trackers he conducted under the joint supervision of <a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/people.unil.ch\/kevinhuguenin\/members\/kevin-huguenin\/\">Prof. K\u00e9vin Huguenin<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/mathiashumbert\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Prof. Mathias Humbert<\/a> (UNIL) in the ISPLab, in the framework of the <a href=\"https:\/\/p3.snf.ch\/project-178978\">PrivateLife<\/a> SNSF project. He earned his MSc in computer science from EPFL in 2020. During his Master&#8217;s studies, he worked as an intern at Inria, in the <a href=\"https:\/\/team.inria.fr\/privatics\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Privatics team<\/a> in Grenoble (France), and at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.logitech.com\/en-ch\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Logitech<\/a> in Lausanne.\u00a0Before that, he completed a <a href=\"https:\/\/ic.epfl.ch\/computer-science\/bachelor\">BSc in computer science<\/a> at EPFL in 2017 with a one-year exchange at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ens-lyon.fr\/DI\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ENS Lyon<\/a> (France).<\/p>\n<h2>Ga\u00ebl Bernard (Research scientist, 2020)<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/gaelbernard\/\">Ga\u00ebl<\/a>\u00a0joined the <a href=\"https:\/\/ischool.utoronto.ca\">University of Toronto<\/a>\u00a0as a post-doctoral researcher\u00a0in 2021 after he worked as a research scientist in the ISPLab, focusing on web security (a project partly funded by the <a href=\"https:\/\/haslerstiftung.ch\/en\/welcome-to-the-hasler-foundation\/\">Hasler Foundation<\/a>). He earned his PhD degree in information systems from UNIL in 2020. During his PhD, he worked under the supervision of <a href=\"https:\/\/ischool.utoronto.ca\/profile\/periklis-andritsos\/\">Prof. Periklis Andritsos<\/a> (UNIL \/ <a href=\"https:\/\/ischool.utoronto.ca\">University of Toronto<\/a>) on the use of process mining and customer journey mapping techniques for improving customer journey experience.<\/p>\n<h2>Didier Dupertuis (Research engineer, 2018-2020)<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/didierdupertuis\/\">Didier<\/a>\u00a0joined the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.epfl.ch\/labs\/dhlab\/\">Digital Humanities Laboratory Lab<\/a> at EPFL in 2020 after he worked as a research engineer in the ISPLab, focusing\u00a0on privacy in personalized medicine (a project funded by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.leenaards.ch\">Fondation Leenaards<\/a> in the framework of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.leenaards.ch\/interdomaines\/sante-personnalisee-societe\/\">Sant\u00e9PerSo<\/a> platform). His \u00a0work in the ISPLab consisted in developing mathematical models and implementing them in interactive tools to introduce a wider public to the topic of genomic privacy. Prior to that he worked on data-management solutions at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bfs.admin.ch\/bfs\/en\/home.html\">Swiss Federal Statistical Office<\/a>. In 2016, he earned his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unil.ch\/formations\/en\/home\/menuinst\/masters\/economie-politique.html\">MSc in economics<\/a> from UNIL. Before that, he completed a <a href=\"https:\/\/ic.epfl.ch\/computer-science\/bachelor\">BSc in computer science<\/a> at EPFL with a one-year Erasmus exchange at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kth.se\/en\">KTH\u00a0Royal Institute of Technology<\/a>\u00a0, Sweden. <i class=\"fab fa-linkedin\"><\/i><\/p>\n<h2>Dimitri Percia David (PhD, UNIL, 2016-2020)<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/dimitriperciadavid\/\">Dimitri<\/a> joined the EPFL\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ar.admin.ch\/en\/armasuisse-wissenschaft-und-technologie-w-t\/cyber-defence_campus.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Cyber-Defense Campus<\/a> of armasuisse as a\u00a0<span class=\"gmail-s1\">post-doctoral researcher\u00a0<\/span>in 2020 and then <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hes-so.ch\/en\/homepage\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">HES-SO<\/a> as an assistant professor in 2022, after he earned his PhD from UNIL for the work he conducted under the supervision of <a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/people.unil.ch\/kevinhuguenin\/members\/kevin-huguenin\/\">Prof. K\u00e9vin Huguenin<\/a> (UNIL) in the ISPLab. He started his PhD in early 2016. In parallel of his PhD, he worked as a scientific collaborator for the <a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.vtg.admin.ch\/de\/organisation\/kdo-ausb\/hka\/milak.html\">Military Academy at ETH Zurich <\/a> (Chair of Defense Economics) in collaboration with <a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.vtg.admin.ch\/de\/organisation\/kdo-ausb\/hka\/milak\/mehr-zur-milak\/militaerwissenschaftliche-forschung-und-lehre\/dozentur-militaeroekonomie\/mitarbeiter\/keupp-marcus.html\">PD Dr. Marcus Matthias Keupp<\/a> (ETH Zurich, HSG). His PhD research focused on applying microeconomics to the field of information systems security, especially for the protection of critical infrastructures. <i class=\"fab fa-linkedin\"><\/i><\/p>\n<h2>Bertil Chapuis (Research scientist, 2019-2020)<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/bertilchapuis\/\">Bertil<\/a> joined <a href=\"https:\/\/www.camptocamp.com\/en\/\">Camptocamp<\/a>\u00a0as a solution architect and then <a href=\"https:\/\/heig-vd.ch\/en\">HEIG-VD<\/a> as an associate professor in 2020 after he worked as a research scientist in the ISPLab, focusing on web security (a project partly funded by the <a href=\"https:\/\/haslerstiftung.ch\/en\/welcome-to-the-hasler-foundation\/\">Hasler Foundation<\/a>). He earned his PhD degree in information systems from UNIL in 2018, under the supervision of <a href=\"https:\/\/hec.unil.ch\/people\/bgarbinato\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Prof. Beno\u00eet Garbinato<\/a>. <i class=\"fab fa-linkedin\"><\/i><\/p>\n<h2>Benjamin Trubert (Research and teaching assistant, 2018-2019)<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><a href=\"https:\/\/fr.linkedin.com\/in\/benjamin-trubert-919264100\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Benjamin<\/a> worked as a research and teaching assistant in the ISPLab, focusing on social aspects of privacy.\u00a0In 2017, he earned his MSc in Cloud Computing and Services, from <a class=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.univ-rennes1.fr\/\">Universit\u00e9 of Rennes<\/a> (France) and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aalto.fi\/en\/\">Aalto University<\/a>\u00a0(Finland).\u00a0During his Master&#8217;s studies, he received an excellence scholarship from EIT Digital.\u00a0He earned his BSc. in Computer Science in 2015, from the University of Rennes.<\/p>\n<h2>Alexandre Meylan (MSc, UNIL, 2018-2019)<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Alexandre joined the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nagra.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kudelski Group<\/a>\u00a0as a security analyst in 2019 after he earned his MSc in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unil.ch\/enseignement\/en\/home\/menuinst\/masters\/systemes-dinformation.html\">information systems<\/a> at UNIL. His MSc thesis research focused on web download security; it was carried out in the ISP and <a href=\"https:\/\/wp.unil.ch\/persuasivelab\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">PET<\/a> Labs under the joint supervision of <a href=\"https:\/\/people.unil.ch\/kevinhuguenin\/members\/biography\/\">Prof. K\u00e9vin Huguenin<\/a> (UNIL) and <a href=\"https:\/\/wp.unil.ch\/persuasivelab\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Prof. Mauro Cherubini<\/a>. In 2017, he earned his BSc in Management from UNIL. <i class=\"fab fa-linkedin\"><\/i><\/p>\n<h2>Alain Mermoud (PhD, UNIL, 2015-2019)<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/people.unil.ch\/kevinhuguenin\/members\/alain-mermoud\/\">Alain<\/a> joined the EPFL\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ar.admin.ch\/en\/armasuisse-wissenschaft-und-technologie-w-t\/cyber-defence_campus.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Cyber-Defense Campus<\/a> of armasuisse as a\u00a0<span class=\"gmail-s1\">scientific project manager <\/span>in 2019, after he earned his PhD from UNIL for the work he conducted under the co-supervision of <a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.researchgate.net\/profile\/Marcus_Keupp\">PD Dr. Marcus Matthias Keupp<\/a> (ETH Zurich) and <a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/people.unil.ch\/kevinhuguenin\/members\/kevin-huguenin\/\">Prof. K\u00e9vin Huguenin<\/a> (UNIL). His PhD research focused on\u00a0security information sharing and cooperation in the context of critical infrastructure protection. He started his PhD in 2015 while working as a scientific collaborator at the <a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.vtg.admin.ch\/en\/organisation\/kdo-ausb\/hka\/milak\/mehr-zur-milak\/militaerwissenschaftliche-forschung-und-lehre\/dozentur-militaeroekonomie.html\">Military Academy at ETH Zurich<\/a>. Prior to that, he worked 5+ years in the banking industry.\u00a0He earned his MSc in Business Administration and his BSc in Information Science from the <a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hes-so.ch\/\">University of Applied Sciences Western Switzerland<\/a> as Hirschmann-scholarshipholder. <i class=\"fab fa-linkedin\"><\/i><\/p>\n<h2>Alexandra Mihaela Olteanu\u00a0(PhD, EPFL, 2013-2019)<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/alexandra-mihaela-olteanu-97b8634\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Alexandra<\/a> joined <a href=\"https:\/\/www.csem.ch\/home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CSEM<\/a>\u00a0as a R&amp;D security and privacy engineer in 2019, after she earned her PhD from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.epfl.ch\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">EPFL<\/a> for the work she conducted under the co-supervision of <a href=\"https:\/\/people.epfl.ch\/jean-pierre.hubaux\">Prof. Jean Pierre Hubaux<\/a> (EPFL) and <a href=\"https:\/\/people.unil.ch\/kevinhuguenin\/members\/kevin-huguenin\/\">Prof. K\u00e9vin Huguenin<\/a>\u00a0(UNIL). Her PhD research focused on the social aspects of privacy with a special emphasis on\u00a0interdependent privacy. In 2013, she\u00a0earned her\u00a0MSc in Computer Science, with a Specialization in Internet Computing, from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.epfl.ch\">EPFL<\/a>. During\u00a0her\u00a0master studies, she\u00a0held an excellence academic scholarship from EPFL and received a Google Anita Borg Memorial scholarship. In 2008, she\u00a0obtained her\u00a0BSc in Mathematics and Computer Science from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ubbcluj.ro\/en\/\">Babes-Bolyai University<\/a>, Romania. <i class=\"fab fa-linkedin\"><\/i><\/p>\n<h2>Anh Pham (PhD, EPFL, 2013-2019)<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/llynbzyhzcrbye2qbwojfkmc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Anh<\/a> joined <a href=\"https:\/\/new.abb.com\/about\/technology\/corporate-research-centers\">ABB Research<\/a> as a research scientist in 2019 and then Google as a privacy engineer in 2020, after she earned her PhD from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.epfl.ch\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">EPFL<\/a> for the work she conducted under the co-supervision of <a href=\"https:\/\/people.epfl.ch\/jean-pierre.hubaux\">Prof. Jean Pierre Hubaux<\/a> (EPFL) and <a href=\"https:\/\/people.unil.ch\/kevinhuguenin\/biography\/\">Prof. K\u00e9vin Huguenin<\/a>\u00a0(UNIL). Her PhD research focused on security and privacy issues in mobile operating systems and location-trace-based services such as activity-based social networks (a la RunKeeper) and ride-hailing services (a la Uber). In 2013, she\u00a0earned her\u00a0MSc in Mobile Computing and Network Security from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kth.se\/en\">KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden,<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aalto.fi\/en\/\">Aalto University<\/a>, Finland. She\u00a0was granted the Erasmus Mundus scholarship for the entirety of my master&#8217;s studies.
