Considering the ways spaces, places and images have been renegotiated during the early modern period \u2013 in particular in astronomy, cartography, post-Reformation devotions and artistic practices \u2013 we will argue that Donne\u2019s work both reflects these spatial reorganisations and engages intellectually and poetically with questions related to space and the visual arts.<\/p>\n<p>The project was initially funded by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.snf.ch\/en\/Pages\/default.aspx\">Swiss National Science Foundation<\/a> from 2014-17 and funding was extended for a final year to 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Project members: Kirsten Stirling, Kader Heged\u00fcs, Sonia Saunier.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Space, Place and Image in the Poetry and Prose of John Donne The aim of this project is to study the poetry and prose of John Donne (1572-1631) in order to provide a thorough analysis of his representation and recreation of the spatial changes occurring during his lifetime.
