Patrick CLASTRES<\/strong> is a cultural and political historian. He is a professor at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His research focuses on the history and geopolitics of international sport, more specifically on the ruling elites of international sports federations and the International Olympic Committee (IOC), as well as on the genesis and diffusion of sports cultures in the world. More generally, he is interested in the concepts of neutrality and apolitism, the epistemology of history, and the relationship between literary genre and biographical essay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He holds a PhD in contemporary history from Sciences Po Paris and is a member of the Institut des sciences du sport (ISSUL) and a researcher at the Centre d'histoire internationale et d'\u00e9tudes politiques de la mondialisation (CRHIM). He is also an associate researcher at the Centre d'histoire sociale des mondes contemporains (Paris 1 Panth\u00e9on-Sorbonne).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He coordinates the activities of the Centre for Olympic Studies & the Globalisation of Sport of the UNIL<\/a> (CEO&GS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
