Mauricio Avendano, PhD, FBA

Mauricio Avendano is Professor at the University of Lausanne, and co-director of the Health Economics & Policy Unit at the Department of Epidemiology and Health Systems at Unisanté. He is also co-director of the Lausanne Centre for Health Economics, Behavior and Policy He is a quantitative social scientist doing research on the impact of public policies and social changes on global health and inequalities.

He is also adjunct Associate Professor at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, Harvard University, and visiting professor of Global Health and Public Policy at the Department of Global health and Social Medicine at King’s College London.

In 2024, he was elected International Fellow at the British Academy. He is also co-Editor-in-Chief of Social Science & Medicine -Population Health.
