About

I am a Professor of Information Systems at the University of Lausanne. My research interests span the areas of big data, machine learning, recommender systems and information retrieval. Previously, I have spent 15 years conducting industrial research at the IBM Zurich Research Laboratory, and at IBM Research, NY. I also visited briefly Microsoft Research.

I hold a PhD in Computer Science from the University of California, Riverside, and an MBA from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.

Currently, I am researching topics such as interpretable recommender systems and large-scale data processing. My work has been supported by a Marie-Curie IRG grant and an ERC Starting Grant.
