Together with her ERC ARTIVISM team (Dr. Raphaela von Weichs, Federica Moretti, Sara Wiederkehr), principal investigator Prof. Monika Salzbrunn organises “Ethnographic Madeleines, a workshop on sensorial methods for ethnographic inquiries” and gives a paper on Whose aesthetics in which décor? Performative art and muralism as activist art against gentrification. Insights from Cameroon, California and Mediterranean cities during the ESA Sociology of the Arts Midterm meeting at the University of the Arts Helsinki, 9-12 March 2021.
Introduction
Monika Salzbrunn holds a full professorship in “Religions, Migration, Diasporas” at Lausanne University. She is currently director of the Research Institute for Social Sciences of Contemporary Religions (ISSRC) and leader of the projects “(In)visible islam in the city: material and immaterial expressions of muslim practices within urban spaces in Switzerland” and “Undocumented Mobility (Tunisia-Switzerland) and Digital-Cultural Ressources after the ‘Arab Spring'”, funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation.
