Invitation to the American Association for the Advancement of Science, Phoenix, on behalf of the ERC

On behalf of the European Research Council, Monika Salzbrunn was invited to present her resarch on “Art and Activism: Creativity and Performance in Super-Diverse cities”, in the panel “Tales of the City: Challenges and Opportunities for Urban Spaces” featuring the research of three ERC grantees at the 2026 American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) conference, 12-14 February 2026 in Phoenix (US).

Introduction

Monika Salzbrunn holds a full professorship in “Religions, Migration, Diasporas” at Lausanne University. She is currently director of the Research Institute for Social Sciences of Contemporary Religions (ISSRC) and leader of the projects “(In)visible islam in the city: material and immaterial expressions of muslim practices within urban spaces in Switzerland” and “Undocumented Mobility (Tunisia-Switzerland) and Digital-Cultural Ressources after the ‘Arab Spring'”, funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation.
